Gusts of familiar wind whisked my already tousled hair. But I really didn’t mind how I looked. Nothing could dampen the thrill stirring up within me. I breathed a contented sign as I took a last look at the plane that brought me back to the Philippines. I’m Home.

Armed with a sense of purpose and vision, I resigned from my work abroad after two years of being a lighting consultant in an international company. I returned with dreams of putting up my own successful consultancy but soon found out that the Philippine market was not yet ready to hire a local lighting consultant over an international company. At the same time, the industry was experiencing a slump so I couldn’t make it my fulltime source of income.

That’s when I got into the soap business. Together with a friend, and with God’s help, I was able to put up my own soap company, Natural Options Enterprises.

As a businesswoman, I know that it takes a lot of sense to keep a business afloat. But I’ve learned that money should not be the end-all of an enterprise. That was an important value the Lord instilled in me as the marketing manager of Skin Restore, A 100% pure organic and locally made soap. God wanted me to be well-grounded in character before He allowed me to plunge into this business. Otherwise, I could easily be sucked in by the harsh competition in the market and the media frenzy in endorsing products. That’s why I take time to pray for wisdom about how to promote our soap. And so far, my marketing ideas have proven not just effective and profitable, but have also made the business an avenue to help other people.

Since the distribution of our goods is done through multilevel marketing, people not just benefit from the product but can earn income from it as well. Our distributors and clients have also become our closest friends, most of them being Christians.

One significant thing that the business has taught me is giving back to God what is due Him. My wife and I regularly give our tithes and also help in a charitable institution. I’d say that’s the secret success formula of my business. By giving God his sacred portion, it’s as if He’s compelled to match my generosity with his.

While leading soaps have celebrities and silky-smooth campaigns, I have the Lord as my consultant. I know He will continue to bless me with success as long as I remain in Him and mind my business well.
